In the fight against child poverty in Germany, "Die Arche" is particularly committed to children from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. The association was founded on the initiative of Pastor Bernd Siggelkow in 1995 in Berlin-Hellersdorf. There are now around 27 locations throughout Germany, reaching more than 4,500 children and young people.
“Die Arche” sees it as its task to draw public attention to social grievances in our society and to campaign on a broad level for a lasting improvement in the living conditions of disadvantaged children and families in our country.
The work with children, young people and families comprises six basic principles: LEISURE - meaningful leisure activities, EATING - free meals, LEARNING - effective educational support, FRIENDS - sustainable relationship work, HOLIDAYS - eventful vacation camps, FAMILY - help and advice for parents.
