Aroundtown continues commitment towards green portfolio

The "City Tower Leipzig" has obtained the BREEAM green building certificate. The regional building landmark is part of the portfolio of Aroundtown, one of the largest real estate companies in Europe. The certification of the office building in Leipzig city center is a further step on the way to a sustainable and environmentally friendly office portfolio.

The BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) is one of the world's leading green building certification systems and assesses the environmental footprint and sustainability of real estate. Aroundtown has successfully started to achieve green building certificates in its German office portfolio as well. The current award of the "City Tower Leipzig" with the BREEAM certificate confirms this commitment. Currently, four buildings in the German portfolio at the Frankfurt, Leipzig and Kassel sites are already BREEAM- or DGNB-certified. Further green building certificates are in preparation.

The "City Tower Leipzig" is the tallest building in the state of Saxony and is centrally located at Augustusplatz 9 in downtown Leipzig. The building is within walking distance of Leipzig's main train station and has ideal transport links with streetcars and buses right outside the door. In addition to offices, the "City Tower Leipzig" has a panorama restaurant and a viewing platform. The rental area is directly connected to the Leipzig Gewandhaus via a covered bridge.
