Green certification for the Hilton Hotel at Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin: Aroundtown started certifying its first hotels

Aroundtown started certifying its hotel portfolio and has successfully received the BREEAM certification for sustainable buildings for its hotel in Berlin. The renowned luxury Hilton hotel, with its 623 rooms and suites, is one of the capital's most famous hotels. The wellness area covers 800 sqm, there are 15 event rooms and a 488 sqm ballroom.

The building is located directly on Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin-Mitte, not far from Unter den Linden, near the State Opera, within walking distance of several federal ministries and embassies, as well as historical attractions.

BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) is one of the leading international certification systems for environmentally friendly buildings. The certification underlines the green orientation of Aroundtown's commercial portfolio, which has already certified 50 percent of all office buildings in its portfolio in Germany. In the Netherlands, Aroundtown's entire commercial portfolio has already been successfully green certified.
