Brown Hotels
Brown Hotels is owned by Israel-Canada Hotels (Subsidiary of Israel-Canada T.R Ltd public listed company, see Israel Canada Hotels). Prior to the change of control to Israel Canada Hotels, Brown Hotels was controlled by Mr. Nir Weitzman and Mr. Meni Weitzman. The business model was to buy ownership in hotels and also to lease hotel properties, refurbish and reposition the properties to stylish modern hotels and to operate and manage the hotels under the successful brand Brown Hotels. They started in Israel and Greece, and following reaching an efficient size the plan was to IPO the company. AT entered into a JV agreement with Brown/Weitzman for their portfolio of owned hotels properties. Due to the negative implications of the covid crisis and the wars in Ukraine and Israel, the operating/management arm of Brown Hotel did not overcome their financial difficulties and entered into a self-administration process. Israel Canda Hotels bought the operating/management arm (including the brand name: Brown Hotel) and entered into long term lease agreements with AT for the majority of the properties under the JV of the hotel properties. Currently, AT owns 70%-95% of the hotel’s properties which are leased to Canada-Israel Hotels.
Canada-Israel decided to keep the brand Brown Hotels under its own hotels operations.
