BREEAM certification for the Congress Hotel Weimar by Mercure: Sustainability for conference hotel in historic Weimar

Aroundtown is expanding the green real estate portfolio in Weimar with BREEAM certification for the Congress Hotel Weimar by Mercure at Kastanienallee 1. The spacious conference hotel offers 194 rooms in various sizes – from compact single rooms to spacious superior double rooms of up to 40 m². The 600 m² wellness area, several bar and restaurant areas, as well as ten conference rooms with a total area of 750 m² offer guests comprehensive comfort and space for events with up to 350 participants.

The hotel is situated in a quiet location on the outskirts of Weimar and is connected to the public transport network. The cultural and historical old town of Weimar, one of the most important tourist attractions in Germany, is easily accessible.

As a globally recognised assessment method for sustainable buildings, BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) focuses on reducing the ecological footprint and promotes sustainable standards. The certification of Congress Hotel Weimar by Mercure underlines Aroundtown's commitment to sustainable conscious real estate in Germany and it is working closely with various hotel operators to integrate sustainable practices into a wide range of hotel types. In Germany, over 50 percent of Aroundtown's office real estate is already BREEAM-certified, and in the Netherlands, the entire office portfolio is sustainably certified.
